What Is Kyphoplasty (Balloon Vertebroplasty) Treatment?

Kyphoplasty, also known as Balloon Vertebroplasty, is a procedure that mends vertebral compression fractures with minimal invasion. It serves to reinstate the natural structure of the spine. Post-procedure, some patients report an immediate alleviation of pain.

Kyphoplasty treatment is usually performed on people with cancer or whose vertebrae collapse because of osteoporosis, a disease that causes loss of bone density weakened whose bones. It can also treat pathologic fractures related to spinal tumors or multiple myeloma.
